Recipe By : Unknown
Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Volume 14-09 Sep 2011

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 1/2 cups biscuit crust -- (mix is OK)
2 cups sliced onions
4 tablespoons butter
3 eggs -- slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups sour cream
Salt and pepper and oregano to taste

Preheat oven to 400F.

Line a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate with biscuit crust.

NOTE: Is the biscuit crust baked before the custard is poured into it?

---> Art, I had to think about that for a minute because when I re-read my
notes it isn't clear. However, I would think that it should be baked before
adding the filling because, even at 400F, I think the bottom would be
undercooked and doughy with only 10 minutes cooking time. I've had this
recipe for many years but it has also been several years since I made it
so...... H.

Wilt 2 cups of sliced onions in 4 tablespoons of butter; place in a 9-inch
biscuit shell.

Mix together the 3 slightly beaten eggs, 1 1/2 cups sour cream, salt,
pepper and oregano. Pour over the onions.

Chill for a few minutes then bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the custard
is set.

Hallie's note: I'm not sure why you chill it before baking but that is what
it says. I have no source for this recipe.
