Venison Rump Roast

1 venison rump roast
Salt
Pepper
Cooking oil

For as many years as I can remember I have taken a rump roast, covered it
with salt and pepper and a little oil (canola now, used to be peanut oil or
vegetable oil) and roast it in a 325F oven until it is cooked to medium.
Remove from oven, let stand for about 20 minutes while making the gravy
from the drippings and serve sliced with a bit of gravy to moisten.
Delicious just unadorned.
