* Exported from MasterCook * SOB* Oysters Italiano (CP) Recipe By : Chile Pepper Magazine -- April 1999 Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Appetizers Seafood Oysters Chile Pepper Magazine Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup zesty Italian dressing 2 large tomatoes -- coarsely chopped 3 green onions -- chopped 1 medium cucumber (peeled) -- seeded and chopped 1 medium jalapeno -- seeded and chopped 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons vinegar 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice hot pepper sauce -- to taste 24 medium oysters** Crusty loaf of bread * South of the Border ** Oysters should be shucked on the half shell or placed in small individual dishes. Combine first eight ingredients in medium bowl. Let stand thirty minutes to make a salsa. Preheat broiler. Arrange oysters on broiler-proof pan. Drain some liquid from salsa if necessary. Evenly spoon salsa mix over oysters. Broil until heated through, about five minutes. Serve hot with pepper sauce and bread to soak up juices. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : This is a great spicey appetizer that guests can sprinkle with hot sauce to intensify the heat levels and suit their own tastes.
